"I have genuinely never seen a harvest produce such large berries consistently. Some are so big you cannot fit them in your mouth," reveals Bartosz Pinkosz from the Summer Berry Company.

What caused these supersized strawberries? The perfect combination of warm, sunny days and cool nights created ideal growing conditions for both size and sweetness.

Production has jumped dramatically - one West Sussex farm alone has harvested 200 tonnes, which is 50 tonnes more than the same period last year.

Average strawberries typically weigh around 25 grams, but many this season have doubled in size to an impressive 50 grams.
