The National Weather Service has opted to change the fire weather warning into a red flag warning for most areas of interior Northern California, with effect from Thursday night until Saturday.

Diablo winds, or Santa Ana winds in Southern California often, are a seasonal mode that carries in warmer, drier air from the Great Basin into California every fall.

Peak wind gusts could range as high as 45 miles per hour, within the hour average winds at 15 to 25 miles per hour, with expect the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta are going to experience the strongest winds of even 55 miles per hour.
