Queens bus riders are about to experience the biggest transit overhaul in 70 years - starting this Sunday, June 29!

After six years of planning and 20,000 public comments, the MTA is investing $33.7 million annually to transform Queens' aging bus network.

The redesign adds 11 new routes, creating a network of 124 routes (94 local and 30 express) to serve 800,000 daily riders who depend on Queens buses.

Ever waited too long for a bus? 124,000 more residents will now live within a quarter-mile of frequent service (buses running every 10 minutes or less).

Introducing "Rush" routes - a new service combining local and non-stop segments to help riders reach subway stations and destinations more quickly.

The redesign specifically targets underserved areas - cutting trip times by five minutes or more for 23% of riders in these neighborhoods.

Queens Borough President Donovan Richards called the final plan "perfectly imperfect" - acknowledging both improvements and remaining concerns.

Lost in the changes? 3,500 customer ambassadors in bright orange vests will be stationed at key bus stops through July 12 to help riders navigate.
