LAX Metro Transit Center Opens: 10-Minute Free Shuttles Until 2026 APM

Los Angeles finally connects its rail system to LAX with the opening of the $900 million Metro Transit Center.

Located at Aviation Boulevard and 96th Street, the station connects both the K Line (Crenshaw/LAX) and C Line (Green) to the airport.

Free shuttle buses run every 10 minutes between the station and all LAX terminals, eliminating the need to battle the dreaded terminal horseshoe traffic.

By 2026, the Automated People Mover (APM) train will replace the shuttles, providing direct connections from the station to all terminals.

The environmental impact is significant: once completed, the system will eliminate 42 million vehicle-miles annually from LA roads.

To reach LAX from Downtown LA: Take the E Line to Crenshaw Station, transfer to K Line southbound to LAX/Metro Transit Center, then board the free shuttle.
