A 4.6 magnitude earthquake centered near Broke in NSW’s Hunter Valley jolted residents awake early Wednesday morning, with vibrations felt across a wide area including Sydney’s high-rise buildings. The quake struck at 2:55 AM on April 23, 2025, approximately 25 kilometers southwest of Singleton at a depth of 10 kilometers, data from Geoscience Australia shows.
