Marine Heatwaves Set to Devastate Ocean Life by 2100: Rising Threat

Defined as an extended period of high-water temperatures, heat waves are expected to increase before the end of the century. A study on marine heatwaves by Brazilian researchers was published in the Journal of Estuarine, Coastal, and Shelf Science. Focused on the coast of Sao Paulo, Brazil, a 35% increase in marine heatwaves is projected by 2100, according to the study.
