Electric vehicle owners in Mumbai have a reason to smile. Starting August 22, 2025, EVs can zip across Atal Setu without paying tolls, following a new policy from Maharashtra’s Urban Development Department. The notification (MRD-3325/C.R.123/UD-7), issued August 21 under the Maharashtra Motor Vehicles Tax Act of 1958, exempts electric four-wheelers and buses from toll payments on Atal Setu, Mumbai-Pune Expressway, and Samruddhi Mahamarg.
