India has shut down 32 airports in its northern and western regions until May 15, 2025, as military tensions with Pakistan continue to rise. The shutdown, which affects major cities including Amritsar, Chandigarh, and Srinagar, comes after India’s recent military action codenamed “Operation Sindoor.” Flight operations have been suspended until 5:29 AM on May 15. The closures follow India’s strikes against alleged terrorist camps in Pakistan, carried out in response to an attack in Pahalgam on April 22, 2025, that killed 26 civilians.
