  1. Eight cheetahs from Namibia have acclimatized & adapted well to their new home at Kuno National Park in India in a month since their translocation.The recently constituted Cheetah Task Force will hold a virtual meeting with officials and Cheetah Conservation Fund in Namibia on Monday to take a decision on shifting of cheetahs to larger soft release enclosures free of predators.
  2. The Mississippi river is drying amidst a prolonged drought. Many sunken ships and artifacts are surfacing and water transport is being disrupted. 
  3. Tamil Nadu has notified India’s first sanctuary for the nearly threatened Slender Loris in Karur & Dindigul Districts. Slender Lorises are small nocturnal primates, which are classified as endangered by the IUCN.
  4. India lost $ 159 B due to heat caused by emissions. According to a report by Climate Transparency, India is the worst affected among G20 nations by carbon emission-induced rise in temperatures, losing 5.4% of its GDP in 2021 due to Labour capacity reduction caused by extreme heat.

As a result of climate change Cameroon is betting on its gorillas for ecotourism. Cameroon planning habituation of their Gorillas to familiarize them to human presence.
