Tesla finally started accepting Cybertrucks as trade-ins, and owners are discovering their futuristic trucks are hemorrhaging value faster than almost any vehicle on the market.

A New Jersey owner of a $100,000 Foundation Series Cybertruck was offered just $65,400 after driving only 6,200 miles. That's $5.60 vanishing with every single mile driven.

While normal pickup trucks typically lose about 20% of their value in the first year, Cybertrucks are plummeting by 35% or more – with some dropping over HALF their original price.

"Tesla is offering more than Carvana," the owner posted online. Some dealers are offering as little as $49,000 for similar trucks – a devastating 51% value drop in under a year.

Some buyers are digging in their heels. "Good thing I plan on driving mine until I die," wrote an Idaho owner. "There's no point in trading in with that low of an offer."

Around 10,000 unsold Cybertrucks are currently sitting in lots across America. That's $800 million worth of metal gathering dust with no buyers in sight.

Tesla priced the truck much higher than initially promised while delivering less impressive performance. The unusual metal design turns heads but severely limits the pool of potential used buyers.
