Greta Thunberg Stranded as Drones Hit Gaza Aid Vessel

The Freedom Flotilla vessel "Conscience" was struck by armed drones in international waters on May 2, 2025, just hours before Greta Thunberg was to board.

Two drone strikes damaged the ship's generators and breached its hull 31km north of Malta, forcing evacuation of all 16 people aboard.

The 65-meter cargo vessel was carrying 20 tonnes of food, water purification systems, and medical supplies destined for Gaza's 2.3 million residents.

Who was behind the attack? The Freedom Flotilla Coalition believes Israel was responsible, citing flight-tracking data showing an Israeli aircraft nearby.
