The US Senate has passed a bill to ensure that veterans will receive a cost of living adjustment aligning with social security rates, in 2025.

The Senate approved the bill and is expected to be signed by the President shortly.

The bill will apply to disability benefits, clothing allowances, and dependency and indemnity compensation.

“At a time when folks are struggling with rising costs, from housing to groceries, veterans deserve absolute certainty when it comes to providing for their families”, said Sen. Jon Tester.The Senate approved the bill and is expected to be signed by the President shortly.

The exact rates are to be announced on October 10 2024. An increase of 2.5% is expected, which is lower than previous years.

The increase in benefits will be proportional to the increase in social security benefits.

This years’ payments are scheduled on November 1, November 29 and December 31.
